What is HackRiddle?

HackRiddle is a 24 hour hackathon taking place February 9th at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University that plans to bring together over 200 students from across the nation to work on anything they set their mind to. With great sponsors, judges, mentors, and industry leaders, HackRiddle will be an innovation packed weekend for everyone in attendance!

How do I sign up for HackRiddle?

HackRiddle accepts attendees to the event after reviewing individual applications. You can register here!

Who can attend?

HackRiddle is open to any currently enrolled student at any college. Non-ERAU Students must be at least 18 years old. Unfortunately, at this time, high schoolers (who are younger than 18 years old) cannot attend.

How much does it cost to attend HackRiddle?

HackRiddle is entirely free, with no fees for admission. Food, swag, and accommodations will all be provided for you with no charge.

What if it's my first hackathon?

No worries! HackRiddle is beginner friendly, so no experience necessary! There will be plenty of workshops and mentors on hand to help you bring your wildest dreams into creation!

What if I don't have a team?

Dont worry! We will have team forming events that will help you bring together your dream team! Feel free to join any team. Max team size is 4 hackers.

What can I build?

Software for the web, mobile, or dekstop as well as hardware such microcontrollers or wearables. Projects will be judged evenly, independent of platform!

What should I bring?

Bring your Student ID for check in, along with your laptop and charger for hacking. You can bring a sleeping bag and pillow if you want to sleep, as well as any hardware that will help your project. Don't be afraid to represent your school!

Do you provide hardware?

If you are planning to work on a hardware hack, feel free to bring anything you think you'll need. We will be featuring the MLH Hardware Lab at our event!

Can I start working on my hack before HackRiddle?

Unfortunately, all work on your hacks must be done during the 24 hour event. Projects that have been worked on before the start of the event won't be allowed to enter for judging.

Is there a Code of Conduct?

We want all hackers to have a great time at HackRiddle, so we will be using the MLH Code of Conduct. You can read it here.
